The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) has released a new update of CLSI M100—Performance Standards for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, 34th Edition and revised editions of CLSI M02—Performance Standards for Antimicrobial Disk Susceptibility Tests, 14th Edition and CLSI M07—Methods for Dilution Antimicrobial Susceptibility Tests for Bacteria that Grow Aerobically, 12th Edition.
CLSI M100 includes updated tables for the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute antimicrobial susceptibility testing standards CLSI M02, M07, and M11.
CLSI M02 covers the current recommended methods for disk susceptibility testing and criteria for quality control testing.
CLSI M07 covers reference methods for determining minimal inhibitory concentrations of aerobic bacteria by broth macrodilution, broth microdilution, and agar dilution.
CLSI QMS02 provides guidance on the processes needed for documents management, including creating, controlling, changing, and retiring a laboratory’s policy, process, procedure, and form documents in both paper and electronic environments.
CLSI QMS29 provides information about the management review process, including the intent of management review, who should be involved in the review, and how the review can be conducted.
CLSI PRE01 establishes procedures to ensure accurate patient and specimen identification. It is meant to eliminate repeating information in individual Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute documents, which might introduce inconsistencies within the standards and guidelines and confusion for the user.
CLSI and our volunteer members actively identify and develop new guidance on standards that raise laboratory testing quality, safety, and efficiency. We are setting the bar for how that guidance is delivered.
